Community Groups

Get involved with your community through one of the local groups.

Here is a brief list of some of the community groups with links to their websites, posts or facebook pages if applicable. You can also subscribe to updates for some of the groups, or join the Facebook group.

North East Community Panel

Council has established seven Community Panels in rural communities within the Local Government Area.

The Community Panel is the key group for Council to consult with when we are seeking to undertake engagement in those communities about Council decisions or future plans.

Each Community Panel is in the midst of implementing a Community Plan, developed by local residents, which includes projects and events to improve community life.

Join the Facebook group for the North East Community Panel.

Write Your Life Group

This group meets every fortnight at the home of one of the members. The idea is to write or record a short story about an aspect of your life or memories, then share it with the other members of the group by reading it out. Membership is limited, but you can keep informed of updates and vacancies by subscribing to the “occasional updates” mailing list.

Dorrobbee Grass Reserve Trust

This group of volunteers maintains the beautiful Dorrobbee Grass Reserve.

Dunoon Men’s Shed

Meeting each Wednesday 9:30 am to 2 pm. Open to all men in the village and surrounding area.
