Thank you again to my wonderful co-editor who has put together another great edition of the Dunoon and District Gazette to keep you up to date with our local happenings. It is a few days later than usual, because despite the wonders of modern technology, I just didn’t have quite enough phone reception to be able to proofread the Gazette while I was away walking in Tasmania. We really need a new editor, who can be here to make sure you get your local newspaper in a timely fashion! Let me know if you are interested – I can still support you while you learn the ropes, even if it has to be from afar with patchy reception!
We welcome another new advertiser – MJC Excavations, and there are a few changes to some of our existing advertisers’ information, so read carefully.
There are articles about the Rural Fire Service with a tribute to some past members, book reviews, theatre, music and art, wildlife, some news of welcome funding for our region, information about local fitness and recreation groups, and a return of “The Fruity Farmer”, a valued past contributor. Tony Rowlands gives us some food for thought with remembering the ANZACs, and of course we have our regular school, church and Sports Club news.
Please e-mail or text me with any questions about becoming the new editor, or for any new advertising or article suggestions.
Until next time,
Bronwen Campbell
