A few words from the Editor.
The great thing about technology is that you can work from anywhere! Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ken was unable to undertake the layout for this issue. So here I am again working on a single laptop screen while travelling, but at least it is possible! Please forgive the slight lateness of this edition, and any errors I may not have picked up on my small screen.
Preschool news is in this edition, with the schools waiting until next edition for their contributions. That gave us extra space to get started with our new series of history with Peter Dorrough contributing his family story – “From Dapto to Dunoon”.
We have been missing our history and we miss Denis Matthews, our historian, who passed away late last year. His regular contributions and book on Dunoon gave us so much knowledge and left a great legacy.
There are some wonderful events coming up –Beyond Venice on 15 February, Lismore Theatre Company’s show in February/March and a series of workshops starting 16 Feb, and Lismore Regional Gallery events. Richmond Landcare has a special event at the Channon Tavern, and there is some late-breaking news of a community gathering and BBQ for Numulgi Locals and Friends of the Numulgi Hall on Sunday 2 March 4:30pm – BYO drinks and chairs.
Check out the local happenings at the Dunoon Sports Club, Dunoon United Football Club and our local churches, plus some updates from the Rural Fire Service.
Music news, book reviews, an introduction to a new local candidate and a few extra news items should make for an interesting read with something for everyone. Enjoy!
