A few words from the Editor…
Well it is great to be back on home soil and with a new edition of the Dunoon Gazette done and dusted and ready for you to enjoy, especially with this lovely sunshine out again.
We have a moving tribute to Jesse Belfour with Wild Jester’s album “Brother”. Read more on page 13 and buy your digital copy of Jesse’s final album using the links provided.
As I write this, I am thinking of my mother who passed away earlier this year, and a very dear friend and member of our local community who is also facing the loss of her own mother.
The passing of someone in our community leaves a quiet space—a space once filled by their presence, their kindness, their everyday contributions. Although they are no longer physically with us, the memories we hold keep them close. These memories are deeply personal—perhaps a warm smile during a walk, a thoughtful gesture, or a conversation that stayed with us long after it ended.
Each of us carries something unique—a favourite saying they had, a recipe they shared, or even a song that brings them to mind when we hear it. These moments, however small, connect us to them in ways that are lasting and meaningful.
While we all grieve in our own way, there is comfort in knowing that by remembering, we continue to include them in the life of our community. Sharing stories, following in their example, or simply pausing when something reminds us of them is a quiet way of saying: you are still part of us. Through these memories, their presence endures—not just in what they did, but in how we remember and continue to live with them in our hearts and minds.
Until next time…
