Dunoon and District Gazette Issue 210 Dec – Jan 2026

A Few Words from the Editor

With Christmas just around the corner, this edition of the Dunoon and District Gazette feels especially warm and community-focused. This time of year naturally invites us to slow down, catch up with friends and family, and reflect on the places and people that matter to us — and that’s exactly what this issue does.

Inside, you’ll find a wonderful collection of local stories that capture everyday life in Dunoon and the surrounding district. These pieces are written by people who know the area, care about it, and want to share a slice of their experience. That’s what makes the Gazette special — it’s a place where our community tells its own story.

Below are some last minute additions that didn’t quite make it into print.

Dunoon Rural Fire Service

Dunoon Rural Fire Service Team and Families 17 December 2025

Members of Dunoon RFS gathered with their families on Wednesday 17/12/2025 to celebrate Christmas and reflect on our activities over the past 12 months. This included the awarding of the Aline Feebrey memorial training award that this year went to Rob Gatt (Front row, second from right in the photo).
The brigade will now take a break from our normal weekly training returning on Wednesday 21/01/2026. Whilst we hope it will be a quiet period for callouts, the brigade members will remain ready to respond to emergency calls as and when they arrive. We wish the community a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year holiday period.
